3RD WORLD CUP KABADDI 2012- IRAN BEATS ARGENTINA, ITALY THRUSHES SCOTLAND & PAKISTAN DEFEATED SIERRA LEONE

Hoshiarpur, December 3 : Today in the battlefield of 3rd World Cup Kabaddi 2012 Iran beats Argentina, Italy thrushes Scotland and Pakistan defeated Sierra Leone
In the first Match, Iran beat Argentina with the margin of 70-18. At the end of first half, Iran team was leading by 36-8 points. Iran’s raider Mr. Shayan-Hadd-Afi-Kahlilabad and Mr. J. Behnam clinched 10-10 points. Mr. K. Behnam got 8 and Mr. Mustafa Hussein bagged 5 points, whereas stopper Mr. Mehdi Noghosbani scored 8, Mr. Alireza Safari 7 and Mr. Mohsen Mehri got 5 points. On the other hand, Argentina’s raider Mr. Yuri Mier got 5, Mr. Ivan 4 and Mr. Fae Undo scored 3 points. Similarly, Argentina’s stopper Mr. Facundo, Mr. Fernando, Mr. Cristian and Mr. Orlando scored 1 point each.
In the Second match, Italy, which is participating for the second time in this World Cup, crushed Scotland with the margin of 66-19. At the culmination of half time Italy was leading with 38-7 points. Italy’s raider Mr. Baljinder Singh Kheerawali, Mr. Vivek Kumar Sonu, Mr. Dharminder Singh and Mr. Gurbinder Singh scored 8, 7, 7, and 6 points respectively. Italy’s stopper Mr. Harish Kumar, Mr. Tenwant Singh, Mr. Baljit Bhau, Mr. Balraj Baji Jand clinched 5, 5, 5 and 3 points respectively.
In the third match played at Hoshiarpur today, heavy weight contender Pakistan easily won the match from fresher Sierra Leone with the margin of 52-12. At the end of first half, Pakistan’s team was leading by 33-4 points. Pakistan’s raider Mr. Akmal Dogar, Mr. Vikas Butt, Mr. Ishfaq Putha and Mr. Mohammad Irfan scored 7, 7, 6 and 6 points respectively, whereas Pakistan stopper Mr. Asif Ali Maula, Mr. Mansha Gujjar and Mr. Vikas Gujjar got 6, 4 and 4 points respectively. Sierra Leone’s raider Mr. Suleman got 3 and Mr. Mohammad Jalah scored 2 points. Sierra Leone’s stopper Mr. Mohammad Kendey was successful in begging 2 points.

    The holy city Amritsar would witness six teams from five continents locking horns with each other in World Kabbadi Cup matches tomorrow. Three league matches would be played in Pool C and D. Kenya would play its first ever Kabbadi match in international arena.
The matches would be played under the flood lights in late in the evening. In Pool D teams of America and Kenya would be seen in action. The first match would be played between Argentina and America whereas Iran and Kenya would try their luck in the second match. Pakistan and Scotland would be up against each other in the third match. Sports department of the Punjab government and district administration had made elaborate arrangements for the matches. National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) has also deputed their teams for the dope tests.
  • DENMARK, THE FIRST NON ASIAN COUNTRY HAVING ACCORDED RECOGNITION TO KABADDI

    The efforts of the Punjab Government to elevate the mother game of Punjabis-Kabaddi, at the global map, born fruits as the Government of Denmark has accorded recognition to Kabaddi. Government of Denmark included Kabaddi in the list of recognized games. With this, Denmark has become the first non Asian country to embrace this game, which originated in India.
Speaking to the media persons, a key player of Denmark team Mr. Thomas Kluzer said that Kabaddi is getting popular day by day in Denmark. He added, “In the men team, seven players are the local natives of Denmark, whereas the women team totally comprised of local players.” Denmark played its first match at Yadwindra Public School Stadium, Patiala against England. Denmark was considered as dark-horse in the competition, which played its match against the mighty English team, enthralled the Patialvis with their valiant fighting spirit. The Danish team was thoroughly cheered on by the full house stadium at Patiala. Although, Denmark lost its match against England by a margin of 25-58, but they were successful in making their presence felt in the World Cup Kabaddi.
