PAKISTAN AND IRAN REGISTERED CONSECUTIVE WINS IN 2 MATCHES

  • PUNJAB WOULD PROVIDE KABADDI COACHES TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES : SUKHBIR SINGH BADAL 
Amritsar, December 4: The heavy weight and top contender of the title Pakistanand Iran were
successful in registering two consecutive victories first two league matches. Pakistan defeated Scotland with the margin of 61-21 points. At the end of 1st half Pakistan team was leading with the margin of 35-9 points. The raiders of Pakistan Isfak Patha, Mansa and Akmal Doger scored 12, 8 and 6 points respectively, where as Pakistan’s stopeer Asif Ali and Musharf Janjua got 4 points each. The Scottish raider Sean Fergusan and Javid Starrett scored 5 and 4 points respectively.
           In the 2nd match of the day emerging Asian nation in Kabaddi arena Iran easily snatch the match from the fresher team Kenyawith the margin of 79-15 points. At the end of 1sthalf Iranian team was leading with the margin of 38-9 points. The raiders of Iran J. Behnam, Shayan Hadd Afi Khalilabad and K Behnam scored 12, 11 and 11 points respectively, where as Iran’s stopeer Alireza Safari and A . Azami got 10 and 7 points respectively. The Kenyian raider Oronto Simonoyango was successful in clinching 4 points.
            Earlier, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy CM Punjab said that the Punjab Government is fully committed to strengthen the Sport infrastructure in the schools of Punjab. He said that the Sport Department of Punjab would provide Kabaddi Coaches to the countries who would ask for it. He said that Sports would shortly be inducted into the school curriculum as a compulsory subject. Mr. Badal said that the Punjab Government has built 14 new stadiums in the state out of which 7 are multipurpose and 6 stadiums are Astroturf Hockey Stadium. He said that t he Punjab Government has increased the budget earmarked for sports from 11crore to 32 crore whereas 10 renowned players have been promoted as DSPs by the Punjab Government.

           Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Punjab formally inaugurated the match between Kenya and Iran by having introduction with the players of both the teams. Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, Information & Public Relations Minister Punjab had introduction with the players of America and Argentinateams. Mr. Anil Joshi, Industry Minister was also present on the occasion.
             Famous Punjabi singer Mr. Balkar Sidhu enthralled the audience with his famous beat songs. Prominent among other who were present at the occasion included Mr Inderbir Singh Bolaria, Mr. Amarpal Singh Ajnala, Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha, Mr. Pawan Kumar Tinnu, Mr. N.K. Sharma, Mr. Harmit Singh Sandhu (all Chief Parliamentary Secretaries), Former Minister Mr. Gulzar Singh Ranike, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Rajat Aggarwal, Police Commissioner Mr. Ram Singh, Mayor Mr. Bakshi Ram Arora and Director of Sports Department Mr. Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon.
