SUKHBIR PAYS OBEISANCE AT GURDWARA DHERA SAHIB

Lahore, November 8: Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, who is on 5 day visit to Pakistan, today paid obeisance at Gurdwara Dhera Sahib-the martyrdom place of fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Dev Ji.

 Accompanied by his cabinet colleagues including Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka, Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Mr. Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Mr. Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, Advisor to CM, Mr. Inderbir Singh Bolaria, Mr. Harmeet Singh Dhillon, Mr. Sarup Chand Singla, Mr. Virsa Singh Valtoha (all Chief Parliamentary Secretaries)Mr.Pargat Singh and Mr. Deep Malhotra (both MLAs) and other members of delegation, Mr. Badal prayed for lasting peace in India and Pakistan and speedy restoration of trade and commerce between both countries.
           Mr. Badal said that he was feeling fortunate that he could get opportunity to touch the soil of martyrdom place of fifth Guru Arjan Dev Ji. He said that it was the desire of every person having faith in Guru Granth Sahib that he should get an opportunity to have uninterrupted darshan of Sikh religious place located in Pakistan. He said that he had prayed to God that let the Almighty to open all artificial barriers between two countries so that Sikhs could fulfill their desire in paying obeisance at Nankana Sahib, Dera Sahib and Panja Sahib.
    Speaking about steps taken by Punjab Government Mr. Badal said that both Punjab’s were working earnestly to promote trade, commerce, sports and bilateral relations between both Punjab’s. Mr. Badal said that with the opening up of Wagah Border and full port status to it, both Punjab’s would prosper. He prayed for early accomplishment of this task undertaken by both Punjab Governments.
           Meanwhile, Mr. Badal also visited the ‘Samadhi’ of first Sikh Ruler Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He also visited the mosque located in Shahi Fort of Lahore and also saw the old Gurdwara constructed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, where he used to pray before imparting justice to the masses.
           Mr. Sham Singh, President Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Management Committed bestowed robe of honour to Deputy Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues besides member of the delegation.
