BADAL, SUKHBIR & MAJITHIA MOURNS SAD DEMISE OF CELEBRATED COMEDIAN JASPAL BHATTI



Chandigarh, October 25 : Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sudden and tragic demise of eminent actor and satirist Mr. Jaspal Bhatti (57) who passed away in a fatal road accident at Shahkot in Jalandhar district on early Thursday.
      The President Shiromani Akali Dal and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal and Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia, President Youth Akali Dal and Information and Public Relations Minister also expressed deep grief on the untimely and tragic demise of great satirist Mr. Jaspal Bhatti.

          Describing Mr. Bhatti as a multi-facet personality and a true son of soil, the Chief Minister said that Mr. Bhatti through his rare sarcastic humor and wit made enormous contribution in sensitizing the general public especially at the grass roots level in eradicating social evils from the society.   The Chief Minister said that Mr. Bhatti being an icon of budding artists especially the humorists across the country has left an indelible imprint on the television and Punjabi film industry due to his relentless efforts to relieve the stressed minds in the present melancholic society through his healthy comedy as a ‘laughter king’ and became a household name in comedy.  Mr. Bhatti as a celebrated columnist also played a pro-active role in highlighting the social issues to the fore through his prolific writings.  Mr. Badal said in the death of Mr. Bhatti a void has been created in the arena of Punjabi film industry, TV and print media which was hard to be filled.
          Describing Mr. Bhatti as a unique artist, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that he was a great satirist who always pointed out the menaces spread in our society and tried to leave an impact with his lucid but sharp comments. He said that with his death a void has been created in comedy world which could not be fulfilled. Mr. Badal prayed to Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and strength to the family members to bear this irreparable loss.
         Mr. Majithia said that Mr. Bhatti was a world renowned Punjabi comedian and he would always be remembered for his special focused comedy against social evils making people aware and educate towards their moral rights. He said that Bhatti's death was a great loss to country especially to the Punjab as he promoted the Punjabi culture, traditions and Punjabiat on new heights in Bollywood. He said that Bhatti's concepts of comedy were always excellent and he would also be an icon for budding comedians.
          Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also wished a speedy recovery to his son Mr. Jasraj and others who were injured while travelling along with Mr. Bhatti on that fateful day.   
          Sharing their heart felt sympathies with the bereaved family, the leaders prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give courage to family members, friends, relatives and millions of his fans to bear this irreparable loss.
